Discipline in ECN is not punishment. We discipline in an effort to teach children self-control and the
importance of following rules developed to ensure everyone’s safety and an effective learning
environment for all. We discipline in a positive, caring manner with an emphasis on helping each
child develop self-control, self-esteem, and respect for the rights and property of others. We think
these qualities are necessary to function not only in the neighborhood, but everywhere and in the child’
s world. Corporal punishment (spanking) will not be allowed.
EMERGENCY NUMBERS
An information sheet, childcare record card, a notarized emergency release from and a current
immunization record must be completed and presented at enrollment. Parents must leave
emergency telephone numbers where adult family members or responsible adult friends and your
family physician may be reached.
PLEASE keep this information current. If, on a particular day, you know you can be reached other than
at the numbers we have on file, please write the number on the sign-in sheet. The sign-in sheet is to
be signed at arrival and also at time of pick-up.
